NASHVILLE LGBT CHAMBER HOSTS 2022 PRIDE IN BUSINESS AWARDS HONORING BUSINESSES & LEADERS FOR THEIR WORK ADVANCING LGBTQ+ EQUALITY AND INCLUSION IN THE WORKPLACE & SOCIETY
Nashville, TN – June 3, 2022 – The Nashville LGBT Chamber held its 9th annual Pride in Business Awards presented today at Nashville’s Music City Center. The Pride in Business Awards are presented by Waller and kicked off Pride Month in Tennessee by recognizing LGBT-owned businesses, allied businesses, non-profits, corporate partners, and advocates that are committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and society.
Over 300 people attended today’s ceremony, which was presided over by the Nashville LGBT Chamber Board of Directors. Members of the Nashville LGBT Chamber nominated over 100 people and organizations across seven categories. A committee of community leaders, reviews and selects finalists, which are voted on by the entire membership.
“The Pride in Business Awards highlight the great work businesses and professionals are doing to advance equality in the workplace and society in Tennessee,” said Terry Vo, Board President of the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce. “Each of our finalists and recipients are committed to keeping our state Open and Equal for all. As Nashville and Tennessee continue to grow, inclusion and diversity are good for businesses and our state.”
Brian Rosman, Vice President of the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce added, “An estimated 1.4 million LGBTQ+ owned businesses add nearly 2 trillion dollars and over 33,000 jobs to the United States economy. Businesses with strong diversity and inclusion practices attract better talent and more potential customers. States that embrace these same principles would see a rise in tax revenues, new jobs, and consumer confidence.”
The 2022 Pride in Business Awards are presented by Waller, Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP with Amazon, and HCA Healthcare / Tri Star Health as the Title Sponsors. The event and awards are made possible with support from Comcast, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Nissan, and Social Link.
