RUTHERFORD COUNTY PET ADOPTION & WELFARE SERVICES (P.A.W.S.)
KIKO
Kiko (A236055) is very STRONG and energetic. He loves human interaction and just needs more training.
Kiko (along with all of our adoptable pets) is neutered and fully up to date on his vaccinations. He has a lot of love to give just doesn’t show well in his kennel (with his bark).
TEDDY
Teddy (A238045) is just a big teddy bear. He also SEEMS aggressive in his kennel, however, he is a sweetheart.
His bark scares people off. He has such a happy spirit, his only downfall is cosmetic. He is missing three toes on his left foot, because of this, he limps when he walks. I think this also scares people off. He is such a unique boy that gives us all lots of love.
SIMONE
Simone (A236044) is a good companion who just has overloads of energy. She will need training but she is not known to be aggressive. She is very loving and just needs lots of attention. If you walk by her kennel she gets very overstimulated making her seem aggressive. She also seems nervous around people sometimes which might deter people away.

Note from WCAC: All of our animals are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Adoption fees are $50 for cats, kittens, dogs and $85 for puppies.
SCOOTER
Meet Scooter! At 5 years of age, this full-figured tabby is full of character. He came to us with a UTI and was 18lbs. We have him on a diet plan (no special food), but we limit the amount he receives and have increased his daily exercise. Scooter is incredibly smart and has learned how to sit as well as give high fives. He shares an office with a staff member who keeps him company and has started taking him on harness walks around the building. He does daily laps in our courtyard. As a result, he’s down 2lbs and seems very happy.
He loves greeting our volunteer visitors daily asking for pets. Scooter is VERY playful and social, but he’s not a fan of energetic children. Needs to be the only cat and dogs are probably a no, but if we’re talking a couch potato, it could work! Apply to meet Scooter today!
BLANCHE
This senior gal wants to tell you about her day and loves to be petted. She simply wants to be where you are and will nap between trips to you for pets.
She came to us as a stray and it was determined that she has hyperthyroidism. She is on a special diet that has it under control. If you have a quiet home and a special place in your heart to rescue a special needs senior cat, look no further than Blanche!
JAMIE
Jamie, an almost 2-year-old Pyrenees mix, was trapped and as far as we know has only ever lived outdoors. She came to us completely unsocialized and very fearful of humans. She has learned to walk on a leash. She has zero aggression, but despite our best efforts is still very nervous around people. She loves other dogs. She really shows her true personality when she is playing with other dogs in the playgroup.
We are looking for a home for Jamie with another dog. If you are looking for a dog for your dog, a playmate – Jamie might be a good fit. However, if you are looking for a companion for yourself, Jamie is not the right fit. She is very sweet and timid.

HUMANE SOCIETY OF DICKSON
EIVOR
Eivor has grown to be such a doll! This sweet boy was born in the winter of 2018 and is a pit bull terrier mix weighing about 55lbs. He would make a great adventure buddy, as he has plenty of drive to explore new things. Eivor is very smart, he knows his name, “sit” and “speak,” and once he gets over his excitement of being out of his kennel, he walks well on a leash too.
In his time here, Mr. Eivor has stolen our hearts and become a staff favorite. He has a blast when we get him out to run in our play yard, and absolutely LOVES to play fetch with toys of all kinds. He doesn’t mind cats but without another dog companion to play with him, he can be a bit much for cats. Eivor is fully vetted, microchipped and neutered, with an adoption fee of $175. If you and your family need an outgoing doggie call to set an appointment to visit.
FRITO
Frito was brought in by Animal Control where several cats were living. It’s estimated that he’s around 9-10 years old but an exact age is unsure. He’s a happy and easygoing gentleman who may have seen things in his life living outdoors. Frito now needs his retirement home to be indoors and with plenty of backrubs. When going home he’ll need a quiet place to adjust and then let the playing begin!
He is neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. He also enjoys the company of other cats.
BANDIT
This boy was brought in by Animal Control and was so scared that we thought he was feral. But after a few days to decompress, we have found him to be harmless. Bandit is older, estimated 10 years or more. He absolutely loves the female kitties!
We have given him several ‘girlfriends’ and he’s such a sweetheart with them. He likes to be petted, especially around his chin and ears. He is up to date on vaccinations and is already neutered.

LOBO
Talk about a happy, silly guy, Lobo here loves to play! Lobo, a 1 1⁄2-year-old Mixed Breed, is a big fan of tossing the ball around with you and hopping around our play yard to get his energy out. Once he is tuckered out, he is a snuggler. Lobo would love to find his own couch to curl up on with you, snoozing away after a nice long play session.
CESAR
Cesar, a 3-year-old Mixed Breed, would give a certain dog trainer with a shared name warm fuzzies because he’s such a gentleman. He walks nicely on a leash, takes treats with the gentlest of nibbles, and he is a super sweet love bug.
Cesar also has some soft, therapeutic-like fur, along with warm brown eyes that melt you. He is often found chilling in his kennel and would love to come chill with you!
REESE
Reese, a 2-year-old Mixed Breed, is as sweet as candy! He is eager to share love and kisses with those he loves the most, and he shows affection in the cutest ways!
Reese loves lap time and sniffy walks. He is very smart and so he should be able to pick up tricks and train quickly! Reese has been eagerly waiting for his forever family for over three months. Is that you? Ask to meet with him and find out!
SESAME
Sesame is a 5-year-old Mixed Breed who has stolen everyone’s
heart at the shelter. This sweet, fun-loving lady is the total package: she loves to play, is eager to cuddle, and has a great time just being with people and other pups.
And as you can see from her adorable smile and stunning eyes, Sesame loves the camera… and the camera loves her. She will be a wonderful addition to any family!
LADY BUG
As Tom Jones sang, “whoa, whoa, whoa she’s a lady!” Friends, it’s hard to get enough of Lady Bug. This pup, a 6-year-old Mixed Breed, has it all: personality, pizzazz, style, and a heart of gold.
Lady Bug loves everyone she meets, and she’s yet to find a soft surface she didn’t love. (This gal would be the biggest and best couch potato you ever did see.) She’s a staff and volunteer favorite, and it’s time for this lady to find a home!
MOCHI
Derby, sweet, and loads of fun, Mochi is the total package. This adorable 7-month-old Mixed Breed pup loves to give cuddles, romp with his friends, and relax after playtime is over.
He’s got the cutest facial expressions, and he’s a huge fan of treats and belly rubs. This guy is simply a sweetheart looking for a forever family to call his own!
PENELOPE
Boop! It’s Penelope. This 2-year-old affectionate kitty is the sweetest gal you ever did meet.
She loves to cuddle with volunteers, and she purrs for pets and snuggles.

MAX
Max is a 1 1⁄2-year-old Boxer Mix who recently underwent surgery after he swallowed a wooden skewer. The skewer poked his bladder and, as a result, he requires frequent bathroom breaks.
Max is friendly, affectionate, playful, funny and loves kisses. He needs a home with no children. He does get along with some dogs but does not enjoy the company of every dog he meets. We do not know how Max gets along with cats. His adoption fee is $300. He is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on all vaccinations and is currently on flea/tick prevention.
MONK AND LOUIE
Bonded pair that must be rehomed together.
Monk is a male, 9-year-old, 21 lbs indoor Domestic Shorthair cat. Monk is FIV positive but is otherwise healthy. Monk cannot go into a new home with any other cats unless they are also FIV positive.
Louie is a male, 9-year-old 21 lbs indoor Domestic Shorthair cat. Louie is not FIV positive but has lived with Monk for his entire life. They are a bonded pair and must be rehomed together. The adoption fee for the pair is $60. They are both neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. They are very chilled cats and just enjoy hanging out together.
