Including Will Rollins for U.S. Congress

Among the endorsees are Venton Jones & Jolanda Jones for the Texas state House

Washington, DC – Today LGBTQ Victory Fund – the only national organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ leaders to public office – endorsed 53 more LGBTQ candidates for the 2022 election cycle. Among them is U.S. House candidate Will Rollins (CA-41), who would run against anti-LGBTQ incumbent Ken Calvert in one of the best pickup opportunities in California for Democrats. Also endorsed are Venton Jones and Jolanda Jones, who would be the first out LGBTQ Black members of the Texas state legislature.

Other candidates endorsed today are Lieutenant Governor of Guam Joshua Tenorio and Washington State Supreme Court Justices G. Helen Whitener and Mary Yu. All three are incumbents. Victory Fund has now endorsed 123 candidates for 2022.

Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund, released the following statement about the new endorsements:

“This election cycle presents enormous opportunities for our community, including the potential to dramatically increase the number of LGBTQ state legislators and win in Congressional swing districts against anti-LGBTQ challengers. These LGBTQ candidates are essential to defeating the wave of anti-LGBTQ legislation we see across the country and to pushing forward policies that are inclusive of our community. We are investing early in these races because that is when we can make the greatest difference – and winning in 2022 is more important than ever.”
