NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville CARES is thrilled to announce Leslie Jordan as Grand Marshal of the 30th Anniversary of the Nashville AIDS Walk. The Nashville AIDS Walk, presented by SGRX, is Tennessee’s oldest continuously running HIV/AIDS fundraiser and one of the city’s highest profile events.

Leslie Jordan is an actor, writer, and singer. He is best known for his roles as Lonnie Garr in Hearts Afire, Beverly Leslie in Will & Grace, several characters in the American Horror Story franchise, Sid in The Cool Kids and Phil in Call Me Kat. Leslie Jordan has a new album out called Company’s Comin’ available on vinyl/CD and across all streaming platforms.

The event will take place in a custom, virtual space that replicates Metro’s Public Square Park where the in-person event is typically held. Once inside this unique and interactive platform, attendees can enjoy live entertainment, visit walk teams throughout Nashville, interact at health vendor tents, participate in festival activities including prizes, awards and more! Other entertainment includes singer / songwriter Britteny Spencer.

To participate register today at nashvilleaidswalk.com.

Nashville CARES relies on support from the community to provide services for those living with or at risk of HIV. For information on sponsoring the event or participating as a health vendor contact [email protected].

Our Mission is to end the HIV epidemic in Middle Tennessee. We work to achieve this through education, advocacy and support for those at risk for or living with HIV.

Our Vision is a community where HIV infections are rare, and when they do occur, everyone with HIV/AIDS has access to the care, treatment and support to achieve optimal health and self-sufficiency without stigma or discrimination.

Last year Nashville CARES served more than 50,000 Middle Tennesseans living with or at risk of HIV including: HIV prevention education to more than 29,000 youth and adults, more than 10,000 FREE confidential HIV tests, and essential support services to 3,400 men, women and children living with the disease. At the top of the image is a pink icon showing a maze, with a headline below reading “The Trans Youth Emergency Project Helps Families Through the Maze of Accessing Gender-Affirming Care.” Below that are three icons with text. The first is a blue and pink compass with text reading “Patient Navigation to out-of-state healthcare options,” the second is a network with a person in the middle, reading “Ecosystem of care where families can reliably turn” and the final is a blue and pink gift with text that reads “Emergency grants to offset travel and medicine costs.” Beneath that is the Trans Youth Emergency Project logo, and a line that says ““www.TransYouthEmergencyProject.org” Trans Youth Emergency Project Supports Trans Youth, Families 2 min read
