Blue Man Group on Tour: Fun, Vivid and Interactive

Have you ever tried to tell someone about a dream you had only to realize halfway into your story that it sounds completely bizarre? It was a fun, vivid, and interactive dream but if you try to explain it to someone else, it doesn’t exactly translate the experience? Well, that is what you can expect from the Blue Man Group.

As they make their stop in Nashville, the Blue Man Group brings along a brand new North American tour. A global sensation, the group first debuted in 1991 and have thrilled over 35 million people with performances in New York, Chicago, Berlin, Las Vegas, Boston, Orlando, and beyond with their national and international tours.

I have wanted to see the Blue Man Group ever since I first learned of their existence when I was a child, so I was stoked to have the opportunity to see them at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) Tuesday night.

A percussion-filled, laughter-inducing, 90-minute show is suitable for the whole family and will leave with everyone on their feet and smiling from ear to ear. They take advantage of the entire stage and encourage audience participation. It is amazing how they are able to communicate with, not only one another but also the audience without ever speaking a word. While their instruments include drums, they also utilize alternative items to make music throughout the night. Not to be overshadowed, their supporting band, comprised of Corky Gainsford and Jerry Kops, was just as amazing as the main performers.
