“& Juliet” is a vibrant, high-energy jukebox musical that takes Shakespeare’s classic “Romeo & Juliet” and asks, “What if Juliet didn’t die?” The result is a fresh, feminist, and delightfully over-the-top reimagining set to a soundtrack of pop hits from songwriter Max Martin, the mastermind behind hits from Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, and more. The show is currently playing at TPAC, bringing its electrifying energy to Nashville audiences. Adding to the excitement, Nashville native Josh Jordan is making a special homecoming, performing on the TPAC stage for the first time after growing up attending shows there.

The musical kicks off with Shakespeare (Corey Mach) presenting “Romeo & Juliet,” only for his wife, Anne Hathaway (Teal Wicks), to challenge him: What if Juliet (Rachel Simone Webb) got a second chance? What follows is a whirlwind journey of self-discovery, friendship, and empowerment, as Juliet ditches Verona and embarks on a new adventure with her friends. The show cleverly interweaves Shakespearean elements with modern twists, making it accessible and entertaining for all audiences.

The genius of “& Juliet” lies in its soundtrack. Every song, from “…Baby One More Time” to “Since U Been Gone,” is repurposed in a way that adds emotional depth to the story. Rachel Simone Webb’s powerhouse vocals breathe life into Juliet, making her a heroine of her own making.
