Call for Submissions to the 1st Annual LGBT Online Coming Out Film Festival

The LGBT Online Coming Out Film Festival will give a chance for creators to share their vision of what coming out is, or what coming out could be, to a wide audience.

San Francisco, April 23, 2024 – The LGBT National Help Center is excited to announce the 1st annual LGBT Online Coming Out Film Festival (ComingOutFilmFest.org), premiering online October 11, 2024.

Submissions of films are now open and run through August 1st. Selected films will premier on National Coming Out Day, October 11th 2024 and will be stay viewable for at least six months. Creators are free to submit their films anywhere else and also showcase elsewhere during the run of the Film Festival.

We are the very first queer film festival to focus exclusively on the coming out experience. The LGBT National Help Center has been supporting the LGBTQ+ community for more than a quarter century, and one of our many programs is the LGBT National Coming Out Support Hotline (LGBTcomingOut.org). Coming out to ourselves and perhaps others is one of the biggest steps an LGBTQ person takes. The LGBTQ Online Coming Out Film Festival is a unique way to hold a mirror up to this experience; to share with others who have still not taken that first difficult and courageous step.

The LGBT Online Coming Out Film Festival will give a chance for creators to share their vision of what coming out is, or what coming out could be, to a wide audience.

LGBTQ film creators provide a unique vision and voice, and we are honored to help share their work with our LGBTQ community.

Application and more information can be found at www.ComingOutFilmFest.org.
