Leading global tech care company Asurion announced that it scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index for the 5th consecutive year in a row.

Established in 2002, the 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index is the 21st iteration of the nation’s leading benchmarking tool for evaluating a company’s LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion policies. Asurion joins the ranks of 545 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

“We’re truly proud of the work we’ve been able to achieve over the last 5 years and are honored to receive this recognition,” said Amy Orem Chief Human Resource Officer. “At Asurion, our success is not measured solely by this recognition but by the daily choices we make to create a workplace where everyone can truly thrive. We look forward to continuing to make positive contributions to our employees.”

Asurion remains dedicated to prioritizing and crafting policies and initiatives to strengthen our commitment to LGBTQ inclusion. This encompasses a range of efforts, including but not limited to:

• Ensuring transgender medical coverage is an option provided through insurance carriers;

• Releasing a gender transition guide for leaders, human resource teams, and employees to ensure a successful transition at work;

• Introducing a new LGBTQ Benefits Guide;

• Implementing educational series and content around using pronouns and

• Updating the Supplier Code of Conduct to include the term “Gender Identity” as part of the nondiscrimination section

“For well over two decades, businesses have played an important role in furthering LGBTQ+ equality by centering employee needs and voices when it comes to workplace inclusion. While there is much more work to be done, year-over-year growth in CEI participation is evidence of a business community that recognizes the responsibility and value in upholding equity and inclusion,” said RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, Human Rights Campaign Sr Director of Workplace Equality. “Our goal at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation is to work in a spirit of partnership with companies, providing educational resources and leading benchmarking, and collaborating on ways for businesses to support the LGBTQ+ community at a time when we face unprecedented legislative attacks, heightened anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and physical violence.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation ranking is the latest of many awards recognizing Asurion’s culture and workplace. Asurion has been named a Top Workplace in the Nashville area for the past nine years and named a Great Place to Work® for six consecutive years. In 2023, Asurion was recognized as America’s Greatest Workplaces for Parents & Families by Newsweek and World’s Top Companies for Women by Forbes.

At the top of the image is a pink icon showing a maze, with a headline below reading “The Trans Youth Emergency Project Helps Families Through the Maze of Accessing Gender-Affirming Care.” Below that are three icons with text. The first is a blue and pink compass with text reading “Patient Navigation to out-of-state healthcare options,” the second is a network with a person in the middle, reading “Ecosystem of care where families can reliably turn” and the final is a blue and pink gift with text that reads “Emergency grants to offset travel and medicine costs.” Beneath that is the Trans Youth Emergency Project logo, and a line that says ““www.TransYouthEmergencyProject.org” Trans Youth Emergency Project Supports Trans Youth, Families 2 min read
