FROM THE PUBLISHER

My wife and I have been married since 2014. We had two ceremonies. One with family and friends at The Red House in Franklin and one to make it legal in Metropolis, Illinois at the courthouse. At the time we married, same-sex marriage wasn’t legal federally yet. I remember it like it happened yesterday – all of the planning, arranging our own flowers, photography, meeting with caters, figuring out the cake – there was so much! We made it through and had a very special day with our family and friends.

For those who are married or planning to get married, this issue is for you. We look at a couple of ceremonies that took place on Coming Out Day at Frankie J’s. We had a conversation with Cheekwood about their vast wedding options. We also discuss what you should do when you get married concerning your healthcare, finances and other legal situations.

You will also find in this issue a Q&A with Fame and Fiction, a story on Lesbian Journeys and what to expect from our state legislature come January.

We hope you find this issue interesting and informative as we serve to Connect you all.
