Glitter & Ash: A Masquerade to Benefit True You TN

It will feel like a combination of Mardi Gras, Carnivàle festival and the hit TV show POSE. “We are so excited to bring this one-of-a-kind event to Murfreesboro and raise much-needed money to build a home where everyone can be loved and be free to be themselves,” Lowe said.

Wild Goose Chase Events is partnering with True You TN for an inaugural fundraiser for the books. On Saturday, November 5, Glitter & Ash: A Masquerade Ball will take place at The Walnut House in downtown Murfreesboro.

“This is not your typical masquerade ball. At Wild Goose Chase Events, we pride ourselves on not just putting on events, but creating experiences,” said Missy Lay, owner of the local event company.

True You TN is a local nonprofit here in Rutherford County. True You TN is creating a safe environment for LGBTQ+ youth to live authentically. Their mission is to provide outreach to homeless LGBTQ+ youth throughout Tennessee through resource connection, care packages, and creation of a home environment that is safe, accepting, nurturing, and supportive where youth can heal themselves while being themselves. True You TN will be the first group home for LGBTQ+ youth in Tennessee, located in Rutherford County.

The event will begin with a VIP dinner for sponsors and supporters for $125 per ticket. There will be entertainment and a delicious meal served at 6:00 pm. Stephanie Lowe, Executive Director of True You TN said, “This was our way of thanking the larger dollar donors and supporters in our community. But the highlight of the evening will start at 8 pm in what we are calling the after party.” This ticket price is more budget-friendly for those who want to support the cause and have an amazing time as well. After-party tickets are $50 and include drinks, light appetizers and three floors of fun and dancing. You can also pay $150 for a ticket to both the dinner and the after-party.

The after-party is a masquerade ball for the ages. You can get dressed up and wear a mask, or you can come in your favorite jeans and a mask, but however you decide to dress, wear your best mask. The symbolism behind LGBTQ+ members of our community, and in this case, our youth, is that we all wear masks to fit in sometimes. We want to have a safe environment where all are welcome, can have a fabulous time and support an amazing nonprofit at the same time. There will be dance battles, entertainers and lots of fun at the after party. It will feel like a combination of Mardi Gras, Carnivàle festival and the hit TV show POSE. “We are so excited to bring this one-of-a-kind event to Murfreesboro and raise much-needed money to build a home where everyone can be loved and be free to be themselves,” Lowe said.

A big thanks goes out to our amazing sponsors, Revance, J Harmon Home Team, Onyx Shear Hair Art, Amazon, and Connect Media Group. You can find more information and purchase tickets at BoroMasquerade.com.

At the top of the image is a pink icon showing a maze, with a headline below reading “The Trans Youth Emergency Project Helps Families Through the Maze of Accessing Gender-Affirming Care.” Below that are three icons with text. The first is a blue and pink compass with text reading “Patient Navigation to out-of-state healthcare options,” the second is a network with a person in the middle, reading “Ecosystem of care where families can reliably turn” and the final is a blue and pink gift with text that reads “Emergency grants to offset travel and medicine costs.” Beneath that is the Trans Youth Emergency Project logo, and a line that says ““www.TransYouthEmergencyProject.org” Trans Youth Emergency Project Supports Trans Youth, Families 2 min read
