In This Issue: The Busiest Season of the Year; So Many Events, So Much Fun!

I don’t think there are many months out of the year that we aren’t busy, but the Fall is the busiest of all for us. We love doing all things pet related and there are so many pet events from which to choose. Cheekwood has its annual Halloween Pooch Party during its Harvest Festival. They also have Scarecrow displays from businesses and community groups throughout Middle Tennessee. Be sure to check out our display, Pepper Jack. We used an actual ornamental pepper plant for its head. I’m pretty sure it has died by now without much water. This plant, though, has so many varieties of color and we thought this was very well representative of the LGBTQ+ community. Take a pic with Pepper Jack, (deadhead or not), tag us and Cheekwood on FB or IG and be entered to win a Cheekwood membership!

Did you know that October is LGBT History month? We’re lucky in this area to have a historian, Sarah Calise, digitizing historical archives for her website: https://nashvillequeerhistory.org/. Sarah is also under contract with Vanderbilt University Press to write the first nonfiction book on Nashville’s LGBTQ+ history.

Can we talk about the guy on our cover though? Adam Mac is killing it with his new hit single, “Disco Cowboy.” His video has been voted in the top 12 of #CMTMusic 12 Pack even earning the number one spot for three weeks in a row now! Congrats to Adam!

Of course with the holidays approaching, we’ve got you covered with a Seasonal Event Guide sponsored by Cheekwood. Be sure to shop LGBTQ+ and allied-owned businesses this holiday season. There are plenty of locally-owned small businesses in this area. Stay tuned for our Dec/Jan issue. We will be bringing all things new to you!

As always, Let’s Connect!

At the top of the image is a pink icon showing a maze, with a headline below reading “The Trans Youth Emergency Project Helps Families Through the Maze of Accessing Gender-Affirming Care.” Below that are three icons with text. The first is a blue and pink compass with text reading “Patient Navigation to out-of-state healthcare options,” the second is a network with a person in the middle, reading “Ecosystem of care where families can reliably turn” and the final is a blue and pink gift with text that reads “Emergency grants to offset travel and medicine costs.” Beneath that is the Trans Youth Emergency Project logo, and a line that says ““www.TransYouthEmergencyProject.org” Trans Youth Emergency Project Supports Trans Youth, Families 2 min read
