Nashville CARES is Offering PrEP NoW at Nashville Pride

In partnership with NPS Pharmacy, Nashville CARES will be offering a 3-week supply of PrEP on the spot with No Wait time to anyone who has tested negative for HIV.

Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville CARES will be offering free PrEP NoW (No Wait) at the Nashville Pride festival on June 25th-26th. PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medication that reduces your chances of getting HIV from sex or injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV.

In partnership with NPS Pharmacy, Nashville CARES will be offering a 3-week supply of PrEP on the spot with No Wait time to anyone who has tested negative for HIV. CARES will also be offering free and confidential HIV rapid testing at the same location with results in less than 1 minute. Follow-up appointments with the Nashville CARES Clinic at My House will be made at the time of receiving your supply of PrEP.

“We are absolutely thrilled to offer this incredible service to the community,” says Amna Osman, CEO of Nashville CARES. “And we are so thankful to NPS Pharmacy for making this new initiative possible. Our mission is to end the HIV epidemic in Middle Tennessee and PrEP NoW is going to get us even closer to doing just that.”

Nashville CARES and NPS Pharmacy will be located at booths 204, 205, and 206 at the Pride Festival.

About Nashville CARES:

Nashville CARES is Tennessee’s largest HIV/AIDS service organization.

Our Mission: Nashville CARES’ mission is to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Middle Tennessee. We work to achieve this through education, advocacy, and support for those at risk for or living with HIV.

Our vision is a community where HIV infections are rare. When they do occur, everyone with HIV/AIDS has access to the care, treatment, and support to achieve optimal health and self-sufficiency without stigma or discrimination.

Nashville CARES serves more than 50,000 Middle Tennesseans who are at-risk or living with HIV. 95 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to client services, including nutrition, transportation, housing & utilities, behavioral health, and numerous other critical services to those who come to Nashville CARES for support. In addition, we recently opened the Nashville CARES Clinic at My House, an inclusive primary care health center that also specializes in sexual health.
